Nagl Elektronik’s decades of experience in fire department alerting systems were also incorporated into MELBOX. The connection to the MELBOX app uses multiple layers, including SMS as a backup. This ensures maximum reliability for MELBOX in delivering fault notifications.

Do I need a SIM card?

A black SIM card with a gold chip contact field, isolated against a white background.

A SIM card is not absolutely necessary.

A SIM card is only required for emergency operation or if no other means of internet access is possible. Then the connection to the Internet is established via a surf stick (4G modem).

How often do I have to change the battery? How long does the MELBOX work without mains power?

A rectangular Ultracell UL0.8-12 VRLA battery in white and blue. The casing is white with a blue top. Technical details such as 12V 0.8Ah/20HR and safety information are printed on the front. A red and a black wire protrude from the left side of the casing, terminating in a white plastic connector.

The battery is charged very carefully in the MELBOX and protected from deep discharge.

The battery should work without problems for at least 6 years.

If there is a power failure, MELBOX reports this and continues to work for 3 – 6 hours.
After that, MELBOX reports that the connection to the device has been lost.

Can employees be exempted from reporting outside of working hours?
